Unlocking Opportunities: Recent Training Courses and Scholarship Funds for the Fall Conference

Dear Virginia APCO Members,

We’re excited to share a brief update on past and recent training courses, scholarship funds for training, and opportunities to attend the fall conference!

Training Courses Hosted: This year, we were proud to host the APCO Crisis Negotiations course at NRV. We saw a great interest, with 30 enrolled, 25 attending, and 24 completing the course.

Scholarship and Budget Overview: Virginia APCO has budgeted $17,500 this year to support training and educational opportunities, including scholarships. The VA APCO Instructional Scholarship is available for any APCO Institute class (excluding RPL or CPE), either in person, virtual, or online. We’re awarding three scholarships at $750 each, for a total of $2,250 in this category. The VA APCO Professional Development Scholarship is available for any APCO RPL or CPE course.
