On April 1, 2025, the Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC) provided agency memberships for all 225 of its 9-1-1 professionals though the APCO Agency Membership option. This initiative ensures that every team member is now a member of Virginia APCO, giving them access to valuable professional development opportunities, resources, and industry connections, including:

  • Committee membership opportunities

  • Committee voting rights

  • Online Public Safety Communications magazine

  • Weekly eNews newsletter

  • Monthly Membership Minute updates

  • Access to the PSConnect online community

  • Cybersecurity awareness notices

  • Discounts on APCO Institute online courses

  • Free webinars

  • Discounted rates for conferences and events

This effort is part of DPSC’s commitment to investing in its 9-1-1 professionals by providing access to training, resources, and a statewide network of peers and strengthening both individual growth and the Virginia public safety community as a whole.
