Derek Rogers Takes on Role as Virginia APCO Representative for Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee

VIRGINIA (April 17, 2025) - Acting President of Virginia APCO, Thomas P. Nolan, has named Derek Rogers as the Virginia APCO Representative on the Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC). Derek holds the position of Communications Systems Manager at New River Valley 911 Authority in Christiansburg, VA.


The SIEC aims to support the development and execution of initiatives specified in the Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan. The present members of the SIEC leverage their experience and understanding of the needs and capabilities of emergency responders. The Virginia SCIP is a strategic plan driven by stakeholders, encompassing multiple jurisdictions and disciplines, to improve interoperable and emergency communications.
